Church Engagement. Churches in South Africa are the best-positioned, most widely-dispersed social agencies available to address the broad range of HIV/AIDS issues. The Church Engagement Focus Area is networking Orlando East Pastors and equipping them to: 1) speak authoritatively on medical, social and spiritual aspects of HIV/AIDS; 2) deal with sensitive issues such as testing, treatment and stigma; 3) develop a multi-tiered church strategy that addresses prevention, treatment and care; and 4) move to the forefront of HIV/AIDS prevention efforts in the community.
